More and More!
More........
Wow, what an amazing day!
The children and people were beautiful, the amazon jungle is beautiful,
the hard rain was bautiful. God is beautiful..
We had many people and many children.
All went smoothly with no problems. The highlight of my day was after
we trekeed in wet mud for a hlaf mile or so, the kids got some wipes,
and cleaned my boots! I felt so humbled and moved about that.
forget about it. What love that was to me..
We are all healthy and ready for day two. Wow, it is a slow trek out
there but very pretyy..
Thank you for continued support of prayer...Still have cold showers.
but we think it will be fixed.
Dear ones,
Wow, what another wonderful day in the jungle. Very hot and rainy today.
All went very smoothly once again. The medical and dental clinic are
perking along and all is going well.
The children's ministry is growing by leaps and bounds each day.
They are stunning and eager to just touch us and hang on us! Dirt and
all:)
Today was the big day with the tshirts that many donated to..I never
would have thought that something as plain as a white tshirt could b so
moving to watch these children and mom's put handprints, names, etc on
them with paint. Then the children made one for their pastor and he
stood as proud as if he had on Joseph's Coat of many colors! Each child
lined up and dipped thier dirty little fingers in the paint and placed
it on the pastors shirt and said Bless you! He was very moved, then he
turned to me and wanted my fingerprint and I wanted to cry like a baby!
Only on the mission field can things be so raw emotionally like that.
Apparently when we started doing the shirts, word spread and even the
people in the clinic got up and abandoned their spots and ran in
to be involved!
We are all well, very tired. But we are having a great time together as
a team!

Day 3
If you have been checking out the blog while we were in Peru, I could not get a connection while in Iquitos. So, I will post what I emailed and you can pretend you are reading it live!
Dirty does not describe how we feel. Filthy may come close. Tired, pooped out, etc.
BUT we are happy to be here doing what we are doing..
this We have had rain every day and every night. With rain comes mud, lots and lots of mud. I am not sure where the mud starts and my freckles end. Seriously! Hair, oh we won't even go there. Enough about us!
We had another wonderful day loving on these poor people who live this way, we are only temporarily inconvenienced. This is their life. They did not choose it, it is where God thought they should be.
I have had so many littles ones loving on me and I figure, I can just deal with it if I get whatever they have, they crave attention, gentleness, love and they are getting it. They are absolutely stunning. The area is beautiful if you just don't look down at the muck and mud we walk through! Deep in the jungle we can see beautiful ginger flowers in bloom!
There continues to be great comraderie and health among us! We are beginning to wear down though. We are being fed well. God bless those who are cooking for us. They serve HUGE portions of chicken and rice. I cannot begin to eat it all...
We feel honored to bring them good news about that there is more to life than what we now are living!
I have not been able to get on the blog so sorry if anyone is checking it. Don't:)
Sunday, tomorrow, I think, we are off:) Church, rest and then dinner..sounds good to all of us!
The clinic has seen over 600 people, so far:) Three people on the medical team! We have had oodles of kids!! Cannot count them, just know they are precious! I have some dear notes written to me, pictures colored for me, I signed t-shirts:) This is precious to me and them:)
Over and out, time to jump in the shower! Praying for at least luke warm water....

Final Preparations
Here we are, days away from our trip!
At this point, it is just time to get there. We have prepared, planned and packed all we can. We are excited to go serve in this very needy part of Peru.
We will be along the Amazon and yes, it will be muddy, hot and rainy. Bugs? Snakes? Birds? Mosquitos? But of course! However, we keep reminding ourself that we are visiting, these dear people live in these conditions. But you know what? They do not know differently. So, who are we to go down there and tell them. We don't. We embrace this opportunity to love on them, care for them, and most of all tell them that we have Hope! We want to leave them having experienced the love of God in our actions, words, smiles, and tender touches.
Thank you for following us. Thank you for prayers, financial support and t-shirts and underwear (for the kids, not me!).

Last meeting....
We just had our last team meeting which is always exciting and filled with many emotions. Yes, we are ready. Yes, we feel privileged. Yes, we are anxious. Yes, we know that we are stepping out of our comfort zone, way out!
We thank all of you for being beside us before we even get started. Please stay with us, from now until we all return safe and sound to our loved ones!
We know we will come back changed. We know we will encounter God in a new, powerful way! How can you not be changed by that..
We would love you to pray that our health remains good! That no one gets sick down there as it is so easy to do.
As I sit in front of a lovely fire, I imagine that it will not be long before I am craving air conditioning! It will be 85+ degrees and rain, lots of it. Quite a change..

Off to the Amazon
Hello faithful followers!
John and I are joining a small team (6) of people to go deep into the jungle of the Amazon region in Peru. We are leaving soon and are in the stages of packing the medicines, children's clothes, etc.
Once again, we leave trusting we have been called to go serve these dear people. We are going to a small location that does not even have a name. It is merely identified by the location KM 43. That is at the end of the road at Kilometer 43, thus the name.
But, we know that God knows each of these dear people's names and look forward to serving their needs.
I will attempt to update as we go along as I have tried in the past.
Love one another today, we all need that.
